Hello friends This is my first discussion after I started mylotting (was missing this word so much) again. And its good to be back here. Just yesterday I came back home after trekking with my friends and family. Well it wasn't that much but still many of my parts already paining. That shows I need regular kind of workout for these kind of activities. Actually I do workout regularly but I guess its not enough for this type. lol. But still I enjoyed it lot. One thing is sure that we need regular workout as per our daily activity. And if we gonna stretch our legs more than our body will start stretching us too. what you say?

@akp100 So where did you go trekking and where is the pic? I would have loved to see those hills and am sure, there would be lots of greenery around too. For the pains, I am sure, doing some hot water bags would help.

It is good to see you back. I do try to exercise daily. In addition to cardio exercise, I have been trying to do stretching and yoga daily lately, but that is not going as well as I had hoped. Still, I am doing it usually at least five times a week, so it could definitely be worse.

@akp100 I think that your "treking" is what we would call "hiking", where the terrain is uneven and you have to go uphill and downhill, etc. Even when you walk on a daily basis, hiking (or trekking) is more difficult and will make your body, but usually it is one of those "good" kinds of hurt when you know that you have gotten some really good exercise.

Hi.. Great to see you all here. Cardio exercise is important one in many ways. Even I started it lately. In past I was only walking as workout purpose. But lately I am doing some jogging and stretching exercising daily. I feel better since than. But trekking kind stuff was bit hard than I assume. May be the one I had attain was bit hard. So its like paining and all. But I always enjoy it.

Yes that exactly what I meant. Yup daily workout like walking is not that effective for this kind of activity as it is totally different. But I loved it. Now there is no more pain. It was for a day.

I think the kind of workout you have done focus on intensity. However, for trekking, it is not intense exercise, though it is a prolong one. if you walk for just an hour, that hardly qualifies as trekking. If you walk for 6 hours for 10 days and with increase altitude, I think you will need a month of rest to recover.

That's for sure. Obviously 1 hour of walking can't be compare with trekking as it is far more hard thing than it. So obviously that kind of pain will come for sure. If one is doing such trekking regularly than it is different thing. As one of us is quite regular in trekking, and he was quite fit even after that adventure.

Welcome back akp ! I am doing two bicycle rides every week, a 10 km one, and a 40/60 km one. At least between Spring and Autumn, Winter is a bit too cold and rainy here. I also try to do long walks, but not everyday.

Hi topffer... Its long time, good to see you. Biking is good one. It is like enjoying and exercising together. I used to ride bicycle years ago but now no more. Only walking and jogging for workout purpose. I do like trekking kind of stuffs but that can only happen when we have group of people. So that also happens rarely.

The first time is always a pain but as you get used to it, the pain is gone. I too should start exercising cause I have been eating a lot and just sitting down.

Thanks.. That's really good. One should do his or her daily workout. Keeping body fit is an important task for us. Even I do walking and jogging regularly. I do some stretching exercising too. But that trekking trip was bit over for me. I mean we had walked on hilly area for whole day. So it was bit difficult. But I manage it somehow.

I chequed on some exercising machines in Aruba as there were several to use at the resort. I decided that nine of them were for me so I´ll stick to walking.

Hi Walking is not bad either. If you are doing it on regular basis than you are doing fine with your workout. It will keep you fit without a doubt. Its not necessary to keep working out with some machines. Normal exercising and walking can work for you too. Keep working.
