If you define new energy car as cars which are not run by gasoline, my answer is yes. With the mature of new energy and more serious of air pollution, people are more likely to buy new energy cars. But it still needs at least ten to twenty years for the new energy car to reak the domination of gasoline car in the market. It's the truth that electric cars don't pollute air when running in the street, but how to deal with their old batteries is still a problem.

I have seen hydrogen and tesla electric cars this year while I was out in California. Both require a support network to make it anywhere else. There is an electric vehicle that I know of that could make it anywhere, but it can't be released yet.
