What subject/niche can you think of for getting an adsense account?

I am aware of the rules for adsense approval. I am not asking about it here, so please don't give me the list without reading this post fully! I am thinking hard to have a subject / niche for a blog which I can later use to apply for adsense account. However, from my observation and research, product-centric blogs have been more successful in getting an adsense account. I don't want to focus my blog around selling stuffs, may it be through amazon or adsense. I've been a non-marketing blogger until now by writing whatever I felt like writing. I would like to continue in the same way albeit with a bit of change to accommodate adsense. What I'm actually looking for is to have a niche that would help keep my traditional blogging style with a scope to earn as well. Can you guys think of anything that doesn't revolve around products or reviews? I know there are many veteran bloggers here who are earning from adsense. Please help.
