Entering college is like going for an adventure. You go travel a new place where you will encounter new faces with different personalities. They say that "No man is and island" which means that we need someone to help us and be with us through good times and bad times, to support us in every step of the way, and someone who will motivate and inspire us to be at our very best and that someone is a friend.
Before entering college, you must be fully equipped. One thing you have in that package is to be wise. Good friends will lead you to something better and bad friends will drag you down. So you have two choices and only one decision to make. Is it the good one or the counter part of it?
Choosing who to consider your friends in college is never that easy. You cannot have it in just a blink of an eye. It takes time and patience finding that friend. In choosing your friend, it has to be someone that will lead you to the bright side, will influence you to be a better person, and ofcourse that friend must have the similar traits with you.
They say that "Whoever your friends are will reflect on who you are." Yes it is true, because you will not be friends with someone that has a different personality with you. In addition to that, friends can easily influence you to something good or bad. Well you do not want to be left out and be outside the circle. So if you do not want any trouble with your academics, you know who to choose.
As you enter college, you become busy not knowing that you sometimes lack time on your family. Instead of going to school in the morning and heading home early after class, you go home late at night doing all the school works that needs to be done. So you end up spending almost the whole day in school together with your friends.
In college it is your friends who can see you and be with you all through out the day. They are the ones who can deeply understand your academic status and your problems about your subjects, the professors, the lessons that are already discussed, and a whole lot more. It is because you both are in the same course, taking the same subjects, gaining the same knowledge, and encountering the same problems about academics.
A friend should have positive traits, good personality, and consistently focused with their studies. In that way you can be influenced to do the right thing and that is to have high grades and to be a better person. Remember that your purpose in school is to learn and to graduate from college later on. Well college is one step ahead towards your desired job.
Try to think about your goals and dreams after college. Have you ever tried asking yourself about what are some possible ways on how to achieve it and does friends affect your academic performance. Well it is already answered after reading this essay.

Believe me. You need true friends after college. Cause after college, many of you will be married and some go working abroad and away from home.
