Looking down on people who win lottery

There is an interview of lottery winners. They describe the way their life changes after winning millions. One of the changes is the move to big house in an estate that houses all the rich people. Their former friends envy them, but their new neighbors look down on them. I sure want to win the lottery even if everyone looks down on me. Money is still money, and having more money means more opportunities to do good, and a chance to improve the standard of living.

Old money people usually do not like new money people.

That is true. I think new money people should look down on old money people. Those old money people are as good as winning lottery because they have no part in creating the wealth in the first place. They are just lucky to born into rich family.

You are statistically more likely to be struck by lightning or to be run down by a bus than you are to win the jackpot in the lottery. As long as you only lay out what you can justifiably afford to spend on 'entertainment', then there is not much wrong but if you are spending more on gambling than you can afford and if you are doing it primarily with the hope of winning the jackpot (or maybe worse, just the hope that eventually you will make up your losses) and 'making it rich' then you are not only onto a loser you will be a loser! I know that @BernieZ would have a lot more to say on this and I also know that you are going to say that this is just an expression of what many, if not most, people dream.

I do not bother myself with statistics. Statistics is no comfort when a person is struck by lightning, and winners of the lottery never count their chance of winning too. I only know that I do not want to get struck by lightning, and I do want to win the lottery, yet I do not want to spend on lottery tickets!
