Small time burglars

It is a bit disconcerting to get into your car and find the glove box open and your cds removed from the console and stacked neatly on your front seat. That is what happened when I left for work yesterday morning. I must have left my car unlocked Saturday night, as did my wife. Both cars had been searched. There was no vandalism and after I looked more thoroughly this morning, all that was taken was three or four dollars in parking change that was in the glove box.
Still, it is rather infuriating to think that could happen in a (loosely) gated community, very well lighted at night. If I had been up, I could have seen what was going on from my dining room window.
We really need to be able to get our cars in the garage, or at least make certain they are locked at night.

its that invasion 'f privacy that gets ya :( i'm glad they didn't do damage to either vehicle.
i reckon i'm purty fortunate 's nobody messes 'round here, though quite a few 'f the neighbors (1/2 mile 'r so away) 've been robbed several times. the hubs is prone to leavin' the keys in the ignition, so 'tis a miracle trucks 've not jest disappeared.
only time i've e'er had anythin' stolen was my hub caps. the hubs insisted on parkin' under the lights. i figure it jest gave the crooks easier access...

@JamesHxstatic Our home has been broken into. It is upsetting though to think that someone has rummaged through your property. When still in NY not long after I got a new car the window was smashed and the stereo taken and the insurance hadn't kicked in yet. You should be safer in your gated community.

No, but I work my car under the street light. 
But if I left it on locked the alarm would go off.

Mine got broken into when we were attending the Greek Festival in Sacramento, CA about 7-8 years ago. I saw all this weird looking black stuff around my van as we approached it at the end of the night to go home. I wondered it what it was. As I got closer, I realized it was shattered tinted glass.
