Surprise to learn that our national hospitalization insurance does not cover hospice stay

I am quite surprised to learn that our national hospitalization insurance does not cover hospice stay. In fact, it seems that none of the insurance companies extend the coverage to hospice. While community hospitals, and hospitals stay are covered, the coverage does not extend to those who need palliative care. That means those in hospices have to pay full rate while waiting for death. It sure is expensive to die in Singapore.
