When I was a kid traveling with my parents from Colorado to Arizona on vacation, many of the tourist stops had an envelope of rattlesnake eggs, you could buy and take home as a souvenir. One stop even had a well full of live rattlesnakes, you were able to look down into a shallow well and watch several serpents, slithering around on top of one another, down there. This about scared me half to death. I did not buy the rattlesnake eggs, but when I got home ,I researched rattlesnakes and found out they reproduce their young live, like mammals.I realize rattlesnake eggs are a joke now. I kind of wonder what they looked like. Have you ever seen a rattlesnake egg?

Oh, Rattlesnake Eggs! I haven't seen them in years, but from what I remember of them they were definitely one of those gag gifts like the snake-in-a-can. I think the entire point of them was that you were supposed to open them, and as the envelope opens it makes a rattling sound like the rattlesnake's tail. My favorite Arizona souvenirs have to be the prickly pear products. Prickly pear jelly is one of my favorites, but I have to hide it or my daughters will eat it all before I get any. My kindergartner thinks the suckers with the bugs and scorpions and worms in them are a riot, too.

Ahhh...okay...that makes sense the sound of the rattles.. I had not thought about the snake in the can in years ...used to make me jump every time...lol.Yes, I actually had birthday requests from some students a few years back wanting suckers with bugs, scorpions and worms in them. I thought they were kidding until I found out there was such a thing.Prickly pear jelly with jalapeno is really popular over here by New Mexico.

Not a fan of snakes even though I no longer fear them as I used to

No never. But one time we decided to travel through Texas on our way to work in Mexico. We did stop at the rattlesnake round up there and it was fantastic. I had never seen anything like that before.
