...the phone that does absolutely nothing. Seriously, why would anyone fund something so silly? You can Google this "phone" to read more about it but it's basically just this...thing, which is made to "feel" like a phone. Same shape, same size, but it's really just a piece of black, thin rectangular plastic. The first prototype raised over $18,000 on Kickstarter. Why? Because the the inventors thought it could be a technology-free alternative that can relieve people's addiction to their smartphones. In other words, they would still "feel" like they're carrying a phone around but wouldn't be too inclined to keep reaching for it and checking it. Because it does nothing. It's on sale for $5. Of course, you can buy that. Or you can just drain the phone's battery and carry a dead phone around.

Hey, someone made millions selling Pet Rocks. I wouldn't count this novelty out yet.

Oh yeah. The pet rock. There's a modern version of that thing that you can plug into the USB port, by the way.

reminds me of the pet rock fad of the 1990's when people bought (yes, paid for) small rocks and dragged them round like dogs on a lead.

@cahaya1983 I have seen websites that try to simulate bubble wrap popping- really not the same as the real thing

Yeah and now they created a modern version of the pet rock that you can plug into the USB port. I wonder what's next.

That is a very stupid idea. Anyway can just use their old smartphone that does not have a SIM card. Once the SIM card is gone or expired, the smartphone is as good as a dummy phone. I think this is a better idea.

Exactly. It's so unnecessary and I just don't know what those people who helped to fund that project had in their minds.

Silly use of money if you want my honest opinion.

It is in my opinion too. I can't help wondering how many people would actually buy it.

I could see this if someone is addicted to their phones but think that a therapist would help a whole lot more.

Or not use a smartphone at all. I think the whole addiction issue started with smartphones because of all the fancy features they have.

@cahaya1983 I think so to. When I first got my smartphone, it was a little addicting but the newness wore off soon for me.
