Avast antivirus keeps complaining about toolbars

It is quite some time since I last encountered this, but it has recurred again today. I have been using Avast free antivirus for a long while and it is an excellent program, but it does have a habit of insisting that I remove certain toolbars. This would be understandable if the toolbars were from small utilities downloaded from the internet, but not realistic since it complains about toolbars from reputable sources. When I previously encountered this it was due to the Adobe Contribute toolbar, which I refuse to accept is unsafe. Today I am getting the same message about the Aimersoft Video Converter toolbar, which despite not being as established a company as Adobe is still an unlikely issue. In the past I soon discovered that agreeing for Avast to remove the toolbar results in having Google Chrome installed, which does not even offer an option to decline during the installation. As far as I am concerned this is deliberate marketing by Avast to promote Google Chrome, which is very bad ethics. What a pity that a business such as Avast should soil it’s reputation by employing such dubious tactics.
