Part time job in retirement

As I've said in another post, I have an interview Monday. My wife was getting anxious about it. "What if you don't like it? What if they lie to you about how much you have to work? What if.. " I pointed out that this isn't like quitting a job to take another. I'm not jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. I'm mostly retired - I have a little business, but that mostly runs itself. If I take a job and hate it, I just quit and absolutely nothing has changed.

I think your wife worries too much and worries for the wrong thing. She should worry that you like the job too much, and you end up working very long hours because you love the work.

Funny that you say that. I'm LOVING the job. If I could roll out of bed and walk to it, I'd work for minimum wage - seriously.

@pcunix Funnily enough I took up a part time contract over a year ago and it just keeps rolling over. I'm really enjoying it especially since I know that I don't have to be there if I don't want to.

@bwjsdems I know of a few retirees in their part time jobs too. They sure are happier, and they seem more committed to the job than the full timers.

Nothing to lose. Most companies do lie these days about the hours and conditions that they want you to work under. Many desperate people have to put up with it. You don't and that's a good thing.

Even i also like to do Part time jobs in weekend or in free time...its a good thing if you use free time in earnings...it will be a extra income because of that you can also pass your free time...so it is good to do part time job in retirement time..
