The Open Road You Leave Behind You.

It was a nice bike, it really was. I could not tell you exactly what it was about the bike that was so nice. I did enjoy the feel of the motor betwixt my legs as I sat astride. I loved the freedom and power that came with that feeling. The feeling that I could go anywhere I wanted to go, anytime. I was nervous though, this being my first time astride a motorized bike such as this. I suppose I should call it what it was, a motorcycle. One of those leaner, more chic models. it was sleek and comfortable, powerful but not overly so. I smiled at the man who handed me the keys, a helmet, some riding gloves. "You are going to be late" he enunciates, I watch his pale chapped lips as he smiles hesitatingly at me. He knows I'm nervous about being on the open road by myself. "I've got to do this." I say, more as a question than as an affirmation. "He needs me, you know." I continue on and he just nods his head solemnly. "You'll be fine miss, truly you will." I slap the visor down across my face and put two gloved thumbs up. I turn the bike on, giving the throttle a few twists. I have never been on one of these in my life, and I'm nervous that I'll end up hurting myself before I get that chance I so desperately need. "Slow and Steady" are the last words I hear before I speed off, sand and dirt kicking up behind me.

Apparently some random guy I was supposed to help? I wrote this based off of a dream that I had. I'll be writing more on it in the future.
