It's so hard to find a decent babysitter nowadays..

Ever since i have given birth, i find it really hard to look for a decent babysitter who is trustworthy and will take care of my baby well. My husband and i are both working and I cannot afford to quit my job and be a full time mom. This is why we need a babysitter who will be able to help us take care of our baby while we are at work. However, it is really hard to find a good, hard working and trustworthy these days. Sometimes i find a pretty good one but not that trustworthy that she will not hurt my baby. Other times i find a nice trustworthy one but not so good with taking care of babies. Oftentimes, i end up with no choice but just to stick with the trustworthy ones wherein i am sure that she will not hurt my baby. I get scared especially since i have watched many videos of babysitters hurting or abusing babies or small kids when the parents are away. I wouldnt want my baby to ever experience that..

actually, every other week i leave my baby with my mom who helps take care of my baby. but that means that i also will not be able to see my baby every other week since we live far from my parents. But for those days/weeks where my baby stays with us, we do not have any other relatives who can help take care of my baby. Even if there is, sometimes it is hard because you cannot tell relatives if you do not like the way she takes care of my baby because it might hurt her feelings and your relationship.

@purplehaze Oh, that is a hard one. You try and search for agencies that gives a service of a babysitter.

@wiLLmaH i did think of that option but i find it very hard to trust baby sitters from agencies because i never know if the one i will get is nice or not. I guess it's one of the problems i cannot avoid especially here in the philipines where you never know who is the good guy and the bad guy

Yeah,It is really hard to find a good one.I also had watched many times about a baby being hurt by a babysitter and I don't want it to happen to my baby..How about putting cameras in your room or around the house?

yeah, actually we recently bought and put a cctv camera already in our house to make me more at ease while at work. at least now i can now monitor in case the babysitter does not take good care of my baby.

@purplehaze That's a good news to the family..CCTV helps a lot in monitoring our babies and other things while at work.

I stayed home with my kids when they were very young. I didn't start working again until my youngest was 3 and I put him in a nursery school. Right now I only need after school care for my youngest 2 kids and I found a really good sitter to do that, and she's reasonably priced too.

unfortunately, i cannot afford to stay at home and quit my job as the money that we are earning now is just enough to cover all the expenses that we have.

@purplehaze Yeah, same with our situation now. It wasn't much fun when I was staying home as we could barely afford anything and the bills got behind. I'm much happier now that everything is getting paid on time.

It's a dilemma for the working moms here too. Some of my friends installed CCTV in their homes that they can monitor from their workplaces.

@purplehaze That's great! I'm sure you've tried your best to do everything for your child.

That was always my problem when my daughters were still babies and my husband and I were both working. We seldom find a good and trusted babysitter.

it's really hard right? you are torn between your job and your baby and as much as we know that our baby is the most important, we still cannot lose our job as well..
