Off the grid living. What do you think about it?

We are trying too - we don't have mains gas or electricity and rely on wood for heating and hot water and solar / geothermal for electricity. We grow our own veg, rabbits for meat and chickens for eggs. No one can be totally isolated - everyone needs to swap skills with other people and trade, but living off grid is not as hard as it sounds!
