I really wanted to read wuthering heights . I heard its a classic and a book you should read before you die. But the reviews about the book are quite negative.. and mixed up too. Can anyone tell me if the book is worth reading?

I have not read it but I watched a movie equivalent in my native language. It was very nice. Maybe once I have excess cash, I will buy that book and read it once and for all.

We had that as a part of our syllabus way back in around early 1990s. So definitely I have read that. Coming about the Negative reviews, well, people today.... anyway, my take, it is a dark story and definitely, if you are fond of a slow paced narrative and an ardent reader, go for it. In case you want you can also read an abridged version (which has lesser text) and if you find it interesting, go for the original (but that way, you might not be tempted to read the original as you would already know all about it).

@deeshaq The best part of it is the characterization. I liked it the most on that novel. The story did not interest me that much because it was a part of syllabus. Let me know, if you can, about your views after you completed the book.
