How many languages do you speak and how do you know them?

Mine are Hebrew and English (thought I sometimes not sure how to spell in English and I don't like grammar, but my reading is very good) and Spanish more or less. Also I know some French and a little bit of Russian. I love learning languages and philology and I always wanted to know at least ten languages until I am 40 but now I am almost 40.5 and I didn't even got close to my goal.

My mother tongue is German. I know English very well. My husband is Italian. Through him I learnt Italian. I studied and taught English and Russian at secondary grammar schools. I know some phrases in Turkish. Enough to impress Turks. :-)

Todah rabah for asking. I speak only English and a bit of French. Living in California, I can speak a handful of phrases in Spanish. I can say hello and thank you in Mandarin and Thai, and I know a few words of Hebrew. That's about it, unless you count music and math as languages.

Well, the English language is very wide so for someone who knows it very well it's like knowing a few languages.

I am fluent in English (mother tongue), French (learned it starting from ninth grade in school and taught it for many years) and German (learned it starting from tenth grade in school, also taught it for years). I studied Spanish for only a year (long story), but picked up more teaching many hispanic students. I can handle Italian, if the guy speaking it is handsome enough.

Being American, I speak fluent English. I can understand some German, as long as they don't talk too fast!

I read Greek, a little Aramaic, but I don't really speak those it's more study...I read Hebrew of the Tnk and speak Modern Hebrew...but there are somethings lacking in my Modern Hebrew, like phrases happen sometimes before I can learn them-besides that I speak a little bit of German:)

I have a smattering of French and Spanish learned in school, as well as my native English. I find reading the languages easier than listening to and talking them
