Watching the drunken birds

And no,just to be clear - not the type of birds you see at 3am wearing miniskirts up to their belly buttons. I make my own wine, quite a few gallons per month. Anyway, one of the ingredients for a lot of the wine is raisins, which get added to a big fermenting bucket, covered with a sweet sugar solution and left to ferment. When I first started to make wine, I would take raisins out at the prescribed date and just discard them onto the compost heap. Now, I was puzzled for a fair while why the seagulls around my house could not fly in a straight line. They would swoop down fine, but fly off in such a wobbly manner. . . They were only landing on the compost heap and eating the alcohol infused raisins, getting drunk and having a fun flight! Most amuzing to watch ;)
