This afternoon I went to the race track, well for me it was a walking track because I don't run anymore. It is a wonderful free provision for the little town nearby and tonight it was quite busy with a number of people walking or running and a class with a teacher instructing running teams of children.
I take the inside lane and plod around at my own rate while others overtake me sometimes more than once! The tracks are gentle on the feet and this is the only place I know where I can look around as I walk instead of looking down because it is so easy to trip on the uneven pavements everywhere else.
Last time I was there I saw a young mum walking round with her three year old son who was running ahead of her. What a lovely idea to establish a love of outdoor exercise in one so young.

If you get the chance you should try it, the track is designed to lessen impact on the feet and joints.

If you are not near a pool or the sea walking is the exercise that doctors urge us to take. Jogging is bad for the knees so I am glad you continue to walk.
