My husband and I watched Hillary Clinton on CNN as she testified for over eight hours at the ninth Benghazi hearing. We have also listened to other televised hearings on it and read news reports on this tragic loss of life in Libya. This hearing uncovered absolutely nothing new. There have been more hearings about the four deaths in Benghazi than there were about the thousands of Americans who died in the 9/11 attacks in New York, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon. The hearings have cost taxpayers $5 million. The only person who has been targeted has been Hillary Clinton ... not the heads of the CIA, the Defense Department or other government agencies. The investigators know what happened, when it happened, where it happened, who it happened to, why the Libyans attacked the ambassador's compound (it was not an official embassy), why the CIA compound's safe room failed to protect the ambassador, and how they died (from smoke inhalation because the safe room did not have an air purification system in the event of a fire). Who, when, where, why, what and how ... all the facts that a good journalist or investigator needs to know. Does this really need to go on? Should we continue to spend money on this? No matter what political candidate you support, isn't it a disgrace that more time and money has been spent on this than 9/11? The waste of money irritates me.

'tis a horrific injustice 'n total disregard 'f many thingies. nobody'll e'er 'pay' fer what 'twas done. kinda like those folks't wallstreet, car companies, financial institutes 'n the like who did so much damage 'n cost millions. sadly, barely e'en a slap'n the hand. don't bring back lives, repair those who're left 'hind 'n unfortunately aint gonna prevent such from occurrin' in the future but i reckon that's better'n spendin' those kinda funds' 'nother white house gala...

They are spending this money while, at the same time, NOT raising Social Security ... even though millions of people will pay more in Medicare premiums. Terrible.

How many schools could have been renovated with that money, or children fed? How about a hearing on wasteful, politically motivated hearings? No wait, send the money to a charity or two.

I agree. That money could have been spent in much more useful way.

@ElizabethWallace - That is a good suggestion. They should be able to prove that there is at least something new to learn, and not just go on a fishing expedition.

@DeborahDiane There should be requirements, some sort of benefit, before these committee hearings are given a green light.

The waste could help feed the hungry that would be a better use for that much money.

Absolutely! I like the tag you used, too ... taxpayers money wasted. I'm going to use it, too.

Sometimes they get ahold of a story and won't let it go.

Yes, they become obsessed with the wrong things and rarely come up with solutions that actually solve problems.

Given how brazenly political it is, it almost makes me want to vote Democratic, even though I'm trying hard to be more Conservative as I age.

I have become more moderate as I have aged, but this kind of behavior makes me mad.
