Do you know what a Nephrologist is?

I didn't even know the word until this morning. It is a doctor who will find out why my kidney function number dropped. They are working on getting me a referral and an appointment with a specialist, a Nephrologist. I assume he will do blood work and other test, maybe even an ultrasound of my kidneys. Nephtologist - a word I never new and wish I never heard.

Nothing to worry about my hubby and my son both had this problem, in both cases it was caused by another medication they were taking, namely to reduce fat lipids, once they stopped the pills kidney function went back to normal.

I have been on the same meds for years, nothing new that would throw it off. He wanted to know if I had a kidney stone - I've had them in the past, I don't know if I have one right now.
