Why Does Free Coffee Always Tast Better?

Thanks to the nice people at Starbucks katie and I had a free latte each while we were out tonight and I tasted so much nicer than when you have to pay for it. We got the freebies because I had bought their ground coffee for the office, which sadly was very weak, but it did mean the we got to tall lattes as a freebie.
Do you guys find that the free things taste better? I know for me it is all in the mind, but if it's free it always appears to taste better.

I'm just the opposite. Free to me equals, of less value.

@mrtoffee really? So are accountants rich because they keep what they earn?

@ElizabethWallace us accountants sadly are not that rich lol, our average salaries are not as high as a lot of people think. As a group we tend to drop into two categories those who are very careful with their money and those who spend it like water.
