Child leashes

There is a lot of debate elsewhere on he heather or not child leashes and harnesses are okay. A lot of eople ink it's lazy parenting, goi as far as saying people shouldn't have kids if they have to tie them up like an animal just to keep them safe.
This debate drives me crazy. Every parent and child combo is different. Some kids are easily distracted and run off if the parent even blinks. Some have disorders like autism. Some parents just have multiple children and can't keep their eyes focused in four different directions at once.
I get so mad at how heated and judgemental that debate gets. Even more so when I was kidnapped at six years old, non-familial, and suffered serious PTSD as a result. If a child leash prevents a kid from enduring what I did, then I am all for it!

I agree with you. And I also think that nowadays people tend to make a general rule out of everything. There were no leashes whem my children were young, but the 2 daughters I had was a lot to handle even though they were fairly obedient.

Really, if it can prevent the horror of an abducted child, who cares if they look stupid? Who cares if it is "lazy?" It only takes a child a second to be snatched and I once it hits 24 hours, 98% of non familial kidnappings are murdered. Those are not good odds.

@Samanthavv I don´t know why they would look more stupid than children taken by a grasping mother´s hnd to cross a street. If it is safer, then it is better.

@marguicha a lot of people think that it is degrading to use a leash on a child and that it is "treating them like a dog."
