We all know that something like iPad will be harmful for the eyesight if you play and stare at it for a long time. Amazon kindle seems to be different because it is just black and white and very simple. You can read e-books from it and it is like you are reading real books. So I wonder whether a digital stuff like Amazon kindle will be harmful for the eyesight or not?

The Kindle is no more harmful for the eyes than reading a printed book because the screen reflects light in exactly the same way that paper does and it doesn't emit any light of its own.
What harms the eyes most is staring at a screen or a book for a long time at the same distance. You should exercise the eyes fairly frequently by glancing up from time to time and focussing on something in the distance or looking around you. This happens almost naturally when you are reading a book. When you turn the page, you will very often glance around the room or look away. It is a little less easy to remember to do this when all you have to do to turn a page is to press a button (or swipe across the screen).
