A Rude Awakening!

Our cell phones made a disturbing noise at "what the heck time is it???" this morning. I mean it was LOUD and obnoxious! It was not our alarms or any type of text or email notification. It was the National Weather Service, alerting us to flood conditions in our area. We haven't lived in Central Texas for very long so we haven't received many of these automatic push-notifications...especially in the dead of night/morning/whatever. I thought we were coming under attack. Thankfully, we, and our home, are all OK!

I read somewhere this is the new thing in the US but so far here we only have an alarm that goes off to warn us of stuff.

We get Amber alerts too. I am thankful for the technology, just not at that hour! ;)

@SimplySara I can see this but what would of happened if the storm was bad and there would of been major flooding. It would of helped you leave the area and save your life.

@poehere I agree! Don't get me wrong...I am thankful for the technology. I'm being a little tongue-in-cheek here due to the hour of the notification, but in reality it is truly a blessing in a life threatening situation. Thankfully, we are all OK.

I hope this warning was early enough for people to take precautions.

We actually got one of those loud blaring alerts on my husbands phone a couple days ago due to an amber alert on a missing fifteen month old baby
