Have you turned on your heat yet?

It's starting to cool down. I was curious how many of you have turned your heat on odor the winter yet? We are in southern Minnesota but we are from Alaska and quite used to cold temperatures. We have not yet turned on our heat and based on the current temperature trends I don't think we will need to for at least another few weeks. Have you turned on your heat yet? How warm is it where you are?

We live in Southern California where the temperature is 84 degrees today. It will be a long time before our heat comes on.

Wow. 84 degrees? Does it ever get cold enough to even need the heat?

I remember Santa Barbara. We did use heat during the Winter, but mostly during the evenings.

Makes it easier on the fuel bill when it stays warm out, doesn't it?

We've had the wood fire a few evenings but the central heating never goes on before November.

That's not so bad. We live in an old church. We don't have a fireplace, but again, we are from Alaska. It's not so bad for us because we are used to the cold.

I haven't turned mine on yet. We're at the stage where I'm closing my screen door a bit more before I got to bed. Our lows have been in the 50s lately.

It's starting to get a little chilly. This is my second fall in Minnesota. It's crazy how different it is here compared to Alaska. This fall feels like Alaska summer to me.
