This year for Christmas I would like to try some new out of the box ideas for wrapping gifts for family and friends. Also saving some money while being more creative. Painting boxes that I have collected, will give an arty and crafts feel to gift giving. Trying to paint something that ties in with their hobbies, could also be fun. A layer of varnish or decoupage Hodge Podge can give a more snazzy finish. Hanging some small gifts in beautiful containers on the Christmas tree might be colorful and decorative at the same time. Ready made gift boxes can be embellished with all sorts of things like in the picture below..Just let your imagination run free! Still love to create hampers with layers of cellophane and bright satin ribbons in floral or tartan. Handmade cards and tags will always be appreciated too. What are you doing in the gift giving department ..share your creative ideas and give us inspiration!

I have almost decided to give up gift giving. Most not only do not reciprocate, they don't even bother to acknowledge the gifts I send.

That is so sad when people are not grateful for what they receive!

I used to be quite good at that but these days more and more thought goes into the folly of exchanging gifts. Gifts no longer get you the kind of excitement they generated in our good old days.
