College Volleyball

I attended my first college volleyball game last friday night in New Mexico.The New Mexico team played a team from North Dakota.The girls on both teams were really intense. The girls make serving the ball look easy. They took a few dives onto the wood floor to save the ball, or keep the ball in play,that looked like it might hurt. I guess they are young and resilient and can take it. I was told they weight train in between seasons to keep in shape The game was 3 out of 3.The score was pretty much neck on neck throughout each game. New Mexico won, they are first in conference this year. During my younger years, I played volleyball for fun, and really enjoyed the game. We played volleyball, at the beach, in school,and at the park. These college girls today got it goin' on though! They work hard at staying fit and on top of the game. They truly have a passion for the game! You can see the enthusiasm on their faces when the game starts, and all the way to the end win or lose. These girls have to compete to win a spot on a college team. Some of the girls are there on full and partial scholarships because they did well at the game throughout high school. They also have to keep their studies up and make good grades to stay on the team. The girls have to practice hard everyday and travel a lot to play. Kudos to both teams they rock!
