Corrupt System - No hope for change.

I wonder when our country India will change. With the new government there was a hope that the country's system will change but today I became so very depressed that I am not at all hopeful. Today one man who leaves near my home a very economically deprived person who has a son studying in class VI died in an road accident. He was going to pick his son from school by a bicycle when a truck hit him from behind. I heard no one even cared to take him to hospital because they were afraid of the local police. When he died he was taken to the hospital for post mortem by the police. He was only a daily wage worker earning little pennies while his wife is mentally unstable. In the evening after hearing this when I rushed to their home I found the little boy who has suddenly become very mature. He told me that when he went to the hospital he was asked for bribe even for the post mortem. The doctor, the ward boys. the police constables every one charged them money to give the dead body back to them. How cruel this is. When he was talking about this I was not able to control myself and started crying. Somewhere I feel we all are responsible for this sort of corruption and hypocrisy. What will be the future of the boy? No idea?? Even for claiming the dead body we have to give bribe.

Sorry to hear what happened with you. But, this is human nature today. In fact, corruption exists everywhere. Do not portray a bad image about your own country by such posts. The father of the nation is MK Gandhi. Right? He once said - be the change you want to see in the world. There is no point in just criticizing the system. Rather, take it in positive sense. Unite those who think like you and get the system changed. Criticizing others only makes us a fool in eyes of rest of the world. Corruption is a live global problem and unity is required to stop this menace. As far as your case is concerned, the bitter truth is that this is only 1% of the problem. Even bigger corruption is happening in this world. The incident you gave is not even close to what happens in Zimbabwe OR Iraq OR the Latin America for that matter. If I say that different nations compete with each other as to who is more corrupt, then this is neither a lie nor a hyperbole. Frankly speaking, even I am afraid of world's future. The hidden fact is that World War III is already planned. Thanks to recession and economic turmoil, world powers don't have enough money. Hence, the process is delayed. Nevertheless, WW III is inevitable.

I think you are being hard on concept001 who is obviously very moved by what she has seen. Honesty should prevail over patriotism.

@41CombedaleRoad Ma'am, Sorry if you felt bad. But, my point is logical. I have seen people who do nothing but keep on cursing others. This "others" include everything. Be it Country, system, people etc. They not only project a bad image but play a blind eye to what exactly are their roles in this matter. As far as honesty and patriotism is concern, the two are interdependent. Can you name one person who is patriot by heart but not at all honest at the same time? I don't know any. I too am depressed on reading what happened with the main author of this post. But, the solution is different than what he comments. Hope you understand.

@41CombedaleRoad Ma'am, By the way I think the @concept001 is a boy. That's what I infer from the profile pic. Are you sure about the word "she" ?

I have not ticked this as 'like' because it was such a terrible situation to describe. The post however is very relevant not only to India. Things are supposed to change here but I also despair. Corruption and fraud continue to flourish and if I lived another 50 years I doubt that things will have changed much beneath the surface.

@41Combedale Ma'am, I agree. What mentioned is relevant to rest of the world as well. However, we the general public too has roles setup. 1. Help the poor boy with the money (just a temporary favor) 2. Help that boy get the justice if possible (his father was murdered by truck driver) 3. Report this incident in such a way that corrupt hospital authorites are behind the bars (get all evidences handy. If possible, get them caught red handed) 4. Use power of unity to change the system (it is a democracy. Right?) We, the non corrupt patriots too have roles to play in this matter. That is what I believe. What do you say?

Isn't there any place where you can complain about this?
