Wreath Season Is Upon Us

I took a trip up the mountain last weekend to cut some boughs for my wreaths so I can start weaving before Thanksgiving. My husbands company posted my wreaths in their newsletter for anyone who wants one, that way I can get a count of how many I will need to make. They even raised my price on them because they said they were worth way more than I charged last year, that was nice. I thought last year would be my last time to make them after 28 yrs of weaving, but I took the chance and went up the mountain. For me, a trip up the mountain includes oxygen tanks, oxygen machines and blood pressure pills, however this time I found that walking through the woods and cutting the boughs lowered my blood pressure. It went up after I got back to the house so we would go walk again. Don't know if I will be able to do it next year or if I will even be here, but if I am you can bet I will try. Do you buy wreaths for the holidays?

No I usually make mine. I have one that I made out of barbed wire years ago and I still hang it up. Are you going back to the mountains this year?

@cintol They would be in for a surprise if they did. I am sorry to hear that you can't do this anymore. Do you still make wreaths of any kind?

Barbed wire, bet no one tries to steal that one huh. No, I am not allowed to go up in the mountains anymore with my blood pressure.

No, I just haven't done much since my son passed, things have been so busy I haven't thought about it.

I love to have fresh wreaths every year, but I don't always get one. I saved a form from last year and I have a cedar out front that I might try to make a wreath from, just for fun. I know it won't be as good as I can buy, so I might have to buy one, anyway!

I love making them and usually give them all away and don't end up with one for myself. You could try making one, at least you will know its something you tried

@cintol That's what I thought. It won't hurt to try, since the material is free. If it's awful, I just won't tell anyone.

How wonderful that you make your own wreaths. I'm afraid I have a plastic one that looks pretty real, and I have used it for years.
