I have walked the length of the London Underground

I have been using my Fitbit activity tracker for just over 10 weeks and I find it totally addictive. When I first started using it, it would tell me I'd achieved something note-worthy every few days. But quite quickly the bars get set higher and I've not had a notification for a few weeks. Today, my Fitbit sent me a message to tell me that I have walked a distance equivalent to the entire length of the London Underground system. Apparently that's 250 miles. Most weeks I'm walking just a little bit less than the length of a marathon which feels pretty good. In reality, I've probably done the marathon distance each week because the Fitbit thinks my pace is quite significantly shorter than it actually is. Admittedly I should be doing closer to 30-32 miles a week but it still feels really good to be walking so much more. Now I'm wondering what the next milestone will be. I'm already half way to the distance that the Proclaimers were going to walk before they walked 500 more.

FitBit? Is this a kind of tracking machine? First time to learn about it.

I think a post or two might be needed.

I think that is a great way to not only keep track of what you are doing but also stay motivated. I would be really interested in actually walking the London Underground, but I certainly would not want to do it all in one day or even one week. By the way, if you walked 500 miles, even without walking the other 500 more, then I would completely understand you falling down at my door.

@boiboing By the way, I realized after I wrote my comment that the "London Underground" was the underground train. For some reason, I thought that it was the tunnels and cities that run under the actual city. We have been watching "Cities of the Underworld", and I thought that England had some of these cities.

@purplealabaster We have lots of tunnels but most are full of sewage.

I will find a geeky twin and some unfashionable glasses before I set off.

I've read of someone else talking about this, but I don't really know how it works.
