A Million Dollar Loan

I’m sure everyone has heard by now the small loan Donald Trump’s dad gave him when he was first starting out. Poor Donald. His dad only loaned him a million dollars!
Will this be the downfall of Mr. Trump? Will this show how unconnected he is to the common person?
Trump has a big mouth. When it comes to this small loan of a million dollars, maybe he should have kept his mouth shut. Just before he made his million dollar remark he said he had had hard times. He had a million dollars in his pocket and was suffering hard times? Come on, Mr. Trump, get real. You were born with a silver spoon–no, a platinum spoon–in your mouth. You have no idea what “hard times” means until you have to worry about where your next meal is coming from.
Granted, a million dollars to you, Mr. Trump, may seem small, but to a common person the only thing small about a million dollars is it’s a small fortune.

Yeah, I about cried my eyes out. The poor guy only got a teeny-weeny one million dollars. On the news it showed how much that would be worth to get the equal today. It was something like 4.2 million.

Yes true some politicians never care about the common people. It is the common people who give them a chance to represent and they always play with our aspirations and emotions.During the elections we should be more aware about whom we are selecting.

Donald Trump may self-destruct any number of ways. The GOP is lacking any credible candidate who is willing to buck the extreme right wing agenda.

A million dollars would go a long way with me, too.

Well considering that fact that he was starting a real estate business (building) not a restaurant, that loan of 1 million dollars was small.

You not only are correct, you're also a good joke writer.
You can compare Mr. Trump to Mr. John F. Kennedy, who also got a million from his dad, only it was a gift not a loan.
The comparison ends up showing that one man is not running high on the popularity index (except with people who just can't resist him) while the other man had more charisma than any other president.
This may show that while neither Kennedy nor Trump ever knew the plight of the common people, one could be, and was loved by the common people while the other may be, but more often than not, may not be so loved.
Kennedy and his brother Bobby both got their million automatically on turning 21. They both helped Martin Luther King, Jr. Bobby helped Cesar Chavez. Despite the wealth, they did stuff for the ordinary, common guys and the leaders of movements that tried to help those people.
Trump is more of a trickle-down theorist. If some spare change trickles down his pantleg because of a hole in his pocket, some common guy might pick up a dime or two.

Well, it just goes to show how rich he is. Being a businessman is no small feat so even with a million dollars it can still be lost if one is not careful or knowledgeable enough on how to grow and manage it.

I think what a lot of people missed in his statement about his father giving him a loan to invest in real estate, is that he was living in the New York area, which is and was very expensive. A million dollars in New York is seed money, and when it comes to commercial property, a million is a drop in the bucket. Many folks can't relate to buying commercial real estate in the NYC area, so they have nothing to compare it to. No, he didn't come up wondering where his next meal was coming from, and it is likely that if he did, and that was all he could relate to, then he wouldn't be running for president. Carson talks about separating twins, and most of us cannot identify with that, either, or the money Carson has. Carson is just as big a braggart as Donald, he just pretends he's humble.

This maybe true about Trump in NYC and real estate, but to a common person calling a million dollar loan a small loan is laughable. If Trump would have simply said his father gave him a million dollar loan to get started, there probably wouldn't have been anything said about it at all. But to the common person for Trump to say he suffered hard times and got a small million dollar loan sounds as if he is out of touch with the common person no matter the circumstances. As far as braggarts go, I think all the candidates running for president is one.

Eh, that's just another little tid bit of his that won't get him any brownie points from us common folk
!
