Do You Have Memories of a Past Life?

The idea of reincarnation disturbs many Christians. I am not sure why, perhaps because we are instructed differently, and we have gotten used to thinking of only one life here on earth. One life to "get it right." But did you know that the Christian faith didn't always eliminate reincarnation? The teachings of reincarnation were deliberately removed from Christianity by people who had agendas. I will write more on the where and hows in another post.
Christianity is one of the very few religions that do NOT believe that we are born hundreds or thousands of times. Not just here on earth, either, but in many worlds and in many dimensions. It is all for our evolution and growth, on the path back to our Creator.
We are not supposed to remember our past lives, but many people do. They have written many books about their memories and in some accounts, these people have gone looking for their last life families. Two of them that I read about, found them, and it was amazing.
Some are afraid to talk about what they recall, as they don't want others thinking they are crazy. But dreams, images, feelings of being in a place before, and recollections of locations in detail are not uncommon.
I find it exciting to read about our past lives, and the reason we come back so many times. When we are not in the material plane, we do remember our past lives, and we are able to plan our next life to learn more lessons that we still have to work on.
Apparently, it's all good. There is nothing to be afraid of, and I have found it interesting to say the least to read books that explain it all. Some of these books are classics, some are translated, and others have been more recent, written by those who have a lot to tell of their own experience and memories.

It sounds very much as if your daughter remembers some of her past lives, and perhaps she also remembers something of her plans for this life before she came. It would be interesting to explore how much she remembers.

@ThankyouLord She goes into great detail, and interestingly enough she has the same husband. I don't know if you came across MaryGoRound on Bubblews, but she believes she marries her husband in numerous other lives. Eternal mates is how she puts it.

@jaboUK I know the one you are speaking of, but we've never had a conversation on this topic. She should write her own book. Anyone who can talk about such a fascinating topic and share personal experiences like this would help others who are afraid to discuss it. In India and many other countries, it is accepted, and expected that some will remember. Past life regression is also a way to tap into past lives, and many have gone that route to find things out about their past lives and the other side in between lives. I have a bedroom stacked with these books, and they have been fascinating to say the least. Most of them are first person, and written by people like you and me. Not everyone was Cleopatra, believe me.

Reincarnation makes more sense to me than the "eternal hell and damnation" baloney. My yoga teacher's master, with whom he studied in India, wrote that children can recall past lives up to age five, and there is much to back that up.

Yes, there is so much written on it you would be amazed. I think we have been brainwashed within the Christian and related communities to dismiss or shut out that aspect of soul evolution. We see it as something "foreign" or belonging to religions that are too far out from our own. I used to feel that way. But I started off reading Edgar Cayce (The Sleeping Prophet) and he did many readings on reincarnation. One of Cayce's books (not his, but a compilation of his readings as a medium) is called "No Soul Left Behind." It's a classic, but that got me started. There are so many, and I found that instead of upsetting me in reading them, they brought me great comfort, and an inner sense of familiarity and freedom. It adds much to my faith in God.

I have always found it a fascinating concept and it explains quite a few mysteries but whether it is reality or not I am not quite sure.

Thank you for reading. It is fascinating, isn't it? Even more so when you begin reading all kinds of books about first person stories as they remember being reborn, and their life before this one.

Reincarnation is an issue that I'm not against, I wouldn't view it as heresy that some do or act in revoltion-in my opinion things like that would either be true or not, but in all honesty the statement that it was removed from our teaching is kinda wishful thinking which don't hold up under examination. We aren't given one life to get things right-we are given God's Grace and His getting things right through the gift of His son. In relation to that, the Biblical concept of Redemption leans on the idea of resurrection-that is, in this world something bad happened, so God in His mercy restores that. The process revolves on God's action, not our works.
