Do you freak out.. quietly?

Lately, my favourite pass time seems to be freaking out quietly...
Late in the evenings, I would lie on the bed, listen to some music and freak out... quietly.
It makes me wonder, do you freak out quietly?
I would freak out about my study, my future job (or lack of), my relationship with others (or lack of).. What if I fail my study? What if I won't ever find a job again? What if I die alone?
Then I would feel panic swells up inside and threatens to spill over.
I would freak out.. very quietly.
Often times, I would tell myself.. it's all going to be fine, in the morning.
The sun will still rise from the East. I will still get up and do my "things".
I will still smile at my neighbours when we meet each other in the hall way.
Everything is going to be fine, in the morning!
Yet, when night falls, I freak out again.
It makes me wonder, do you freak out quietly?

I think many of us do without letting other people know that we are. we go over things in our minds.

@Drosophila I'm sure you are fine really, sometimes it's best to keep your mouth closed.

@kevin1877uk Yep.. thats what I think too.. Last time a friend of mine went to see the doctor to get some sleeping pills.. she walked away with a prescription for anti-depressant.. That actually depressed her more.

Yes I do, and over the strangest things. Once I was freaking out because I thought I forgot my car keys at home. I was driving the car at the time. I'm not belittling your situation, that was a very real event and happened not once but several times. It's taught me I shouldn't panic, so I try not to, but I still do, over the strangest things, and it's always something I'm already doing.

That's strangely reassuring that others can identify the same bizarre moments of anxiety

@Drosophila It's odd, I'll be thinking I forgot something only to find I wouldn't be doing what I was doing if I had forgotten it. Now on the other hand, I have forgotten my glasses when I leave the house. I have three pairs of glasses. One for the computer, one for everything else, and one for reading. I've gotten up from the computer and walked right out the door and gone somewhere without changing glasses. I have to do the headbob test to find out if I've got the right glasses on or not. If I see the bifocal line, I'm good. If not and I'm not far from home, I turn right back and get them. Otherwise I've already been at church and found I can't read anything because I've got the wrong glasses on. I can drive with no problem with my computer glasses. I can't do anything else though, reading is impossible.

@Rollo1 I do that too! some times I would laugh at myself, because some of the thoughts are kinda too ludicrous when I hear it loud.

@WorDazza Yep, I guess it's the general theme of life right? very rarely we're always 100% stress free.

Lol.. ain't that always the case. I'm quite a positive person really, I don't complain excessively to friends 'n' family. Never be able to see the point.. what good could it possibly do?

@Drosophila In all seriousness I think it usually is and it's an important lesson to learn. All too often people think that they're completely alone in their self-doubt when really everyone (OK almost everyone) carries those same feelings around with them.

I would describe your feelings as anxiety and depresion. I have some of those moments, but it doesnt have much to do with the hour of the day. Sometimes though, when There are gray days, I feel like that. Not about study or jobs anymore, as I an retired. But about loneliness and life itself.

Anxiety for sure, stress yeah. Full-blown depression not quite, I have a close relative that suffers from depression, he couldn't even get out of bed. I am lucky it's not to that scale. Clinical depression is very scary alright. :)

What do you do to keep yourself happy when the grey mood strikes? I usually try to do some exercise like yoga, and I find that when I'm exercising my brain is too busy to think. It actually calms me down.

I think it is truthful to say that I do freak out at times, but never quietly!
