After reading about @marguicha post about dieting, I thought I would share what worked for me. I lost 50 lbs on it, but I was also taking swimming lessons and weight training (I had grand delusions of getting on TV's Survivor!)
All diets work until you get off of it. Somersizing changes your way of eating and how you look at food. It will turn you into an amateur nutritionist. Food is divided into 4 groups. Proteins/Fats, Veggies, Carbs and Funky Foods. I don't think I need to tell you to stay away from Funky Foods. Also, try to stay away from white foods, and veggies, like potatoes and other starchy foods.
You eat fruit only on an empty stomach, then you can follow with a carb meal 20-30 mins later, or a Protein/Fats food 1 hour later. Your digestive system will thank you for it!
You can eat Proteins/Fats with Veggies, or you can eat Carbs and Veggies, but never combine Proteins/Fats with carbs. This makes eating sandwiches difficult. But I usually make a veggie spread if I feel a need for a sandwich.
If you start eating this way, you will no longer get heartburn and bloating and gas will be a thing of the past.
Also, this diet is not too safe for Diabetics, who need carbs with every single meal.

Interesting! I have to think about staying away from too much white foods. I know a bit of rice, a small potato or some pasta is not terrible. But a dish full of it does nor work. The diet specifies dessert dishes as containers.

Yes, try to stay away from too many potatoes, and white flour, Cauliflower is okay in moderation.
