Too much receipt tape!

I just saw a picture on facebook. Some genius created a costume that is basically a receipt from CVS. I have family that work
for CVS and so I am sure they got a kick out of it. I know Kmart gives a lot of receipt as well, it's ridiculous really. A ridiculous
waste in this modern world of debit cards and credit cards. We should be asked whether we want a copy of our receipt or not. It would
save a lot of trees, and money for the individual companies as well. Of course the companies that provide the receipt tape would
be out of commission, and the advertisers on the back would potentially lose business.
What do you do with your receipts when you get them? Throw them away immediately?
or Do you still keep them for records? I realize we do need receipts sometimes, but mostly no.

I throw most of them in the garbage. I keep Walmart receipts until I scan them onto Walmart Savings Catcher, Receipt Hog, and Saving Star.. then I throw them out too.

I used to use the Savings catcher and savingstar. I liked the savings catcher the most but I don't go to walmart much at all anymore.
In fact I think the last time I stepped foot into walmart was two or three months ago.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yeah I don't really like going there. I've tried shopping other places, but other stores don't carry the same things as Walmart does. Like Walmart carries packages of microwavable burritos for less than $5, nobody else has these packs of burritos, and I like to keep easy stuff on hand for the kids for nights when I'm too busy to cook or if they're still hungry or whatever. Plus it is cheaper at Walmart.

@katsmeow1213 Walmart does have somethings that other regular grocers don't have. Walmart carries Horchata, which is a rice and cinnamon drink. My favorite, so occasionally I do have to
make a trip. I've been out of rice water for about a month now. They have cheaper options on some of my favorite international cookies as well. I try to steer clear of walmart
because of their customer service and busy busy lines. Especially this time of year.

I keep all receipts as I often need them to return stuff. But a short receipt will do. Dont need to waste a lot of paper. I agree.

I suppose I hardly make a purchase that I will need to return. I try to steer clear of clothing when shopping for gifts, and when it comes to my own clothing I either get the
right size or I miss out and just not return it. I keep the clothes, hoping one day I will fit into it! Wishful thinking indeed.
