NaNoWriMo 2015 Day 1

What better time to sit down and actually start writing my novel then NaNoWriMo (national novel writing month)? I'm a few days late getting started, but at least I'm jumping in with both feet and STARTING to WRITE! I downloaded a program my friend, who's also participating, recommended. It's a content management program for writers called Scrivener. It has a 30 day free trial. The cool thing about it is, the days only count for each day you actually USE the program! It's not 30 consecutive days, then the trial is over. That's great for me because I probably wont' be able to sit down and write every single day. I also joined a local group on the forum and added my friend as a buddy. Are you participating in NaNoWriMo?

I love Scrivener. I've been using it for Nano and Julno since November 2009. I no longer use Open Office/Neo Office. You'll love Scrivener! This is my 7th year of doing Nano--last year I took off--and I've rocked it with 10 K as of today. Nano buddies are the best--most of mine are from Facebook/Twitter. There's a local writing group to do write-ins once a week. As for Scrivener, you'll get a discount, whether you win or lose this month. It's only $45 for the license.

i just signed up i'm trying to study the site on how to get started, what to do first. it says we can write using our own language how do I get started, I'm still a little confused about this thing coz it might not add up to the word count.. right now I'm trying to construct an English novel so I could achieve the word count.

I was confused at first too. You actually draft the novel on your computer and update the website with your word count every day. Good luck!

Good for you. Not this year, but I am working on my novel and hope to have it finished by the end of the month.
