After such a long time without a washing machine, (it broke and there were problems installing the replacement) I finally got through my laundry pile, which feels great. It is bonfire night here, the UK commemoration of a failed attempt by Guy Fawkes to blow up the government in 1605. Given that modern government makes many wish he had succeeded the use of fireworks to celebrate an assassin / terrorist is rather odd. Talking of odd, my Mum kept interrupting my peace & quiet to tell me all sorts of trivial stuff. Our timid old cat stayed in because of the loud fireworks going off until way into the early hours of the morning. She started licking my mum’s yoghurt and finished it off. My mum told me this twice and then interrupted me again to wave the empty yoghurt pot at me as needing to prove the story. I find such pointless distractions annoying at the best of times.
