I fall in love with cruising

I just returned from my first and only cruise, and I can honestly say that I fall in love with cruising. I will definitely go for more cruises in the future. The shore excursions are expensive, though it takes all worries and stresses out of arranging a tour. I like the fact that I do not have to pack and unpack all the time, and I can visit all the countries in the cruise itinerary without taking along my passports, and the speed of clearing custom is amazingly fast. I also like the fact that the cruise liner will handle all the visa applications. I met some fellow cruisers who had very different ideas about cruising. One family did not want to travel on the same ship twice. They booked cruise on ships that they had never traveled before. A few others liked to stick to Asia cruises where they could enjoy the hot sun.

I went on my first cruise last year and it was a surprise birthday gift from one of my daughters :) It was an awesome experience - my dream cruise to Alaska that I had been wanting to do since before she was even born and she is in her early 20's now! We had an amazing time on Norwegian Cruise Lines... we really enjoyed their "freestyle cruising" approach as we were not looking for something fancy. I would definitely travel with them again and hope to in the future

I think you can travel with different cruise lines to Alaska so that you can compare the service and itineraries offered. Norwegian Cruise line is a subsidiary of Star Cruise. Star Cruise is a subsidiary of the Genting group which has a number of casinos in the world. As a result, both cruise lines have more to offer gamblers!

I have cruised a lot in my past. I usually only like to go on Royal Caribbean as they offer a more elegant line of cruising and a lot of parties and parades at night. I have been on so much i dont even know the number of cruises i have been on. They are truly a lot of fun and can be stressfull with always doing something and no sleep, But if you want to relax you can do that too and enjoy the time doing that as well. I love seeing different places throughout the world.

haha, that is true, you can practically find things to do all the time, and eat all the time. I was on a large ship but not the largest, yet I witnessed many people losing their way in the ship. If they were to travel on the largest ship in Royal Caribbean, I think they would lose a lot of weight just because they could not find their way back to the cabin.

I'm glad that you enjoyed your cruise, I love cruising too. We never take the organised tours - as you say, they are very expensive.

Yes, these shore excursions are expensive but I do not feel confident of arranging my own private tours. I take the "on-your-own" kind of tour so that I have time for my own shopping and sightseeing, and yet have the comfort and safety of the tour bus pick-up, and the service of a tour guide who can offer suggestion on where to go, and cost for taxi.
