The Best And Worst TV Chat Shows

I like relaxed anecdotal TV chat shows where the host / compere lets the guests talk and reminisce about their career or life. I hate chat shows which are more about the ego of the chat show host who fails to let the guests say anything, or insists on them playing silly games.
I like guests who talk and don’t spend the entire chat show plugging their latest movie, song, or book. While I expect some plugging, many guests are not interested in anything else but advertising and self-promotion.
Good chat show hosts – Michael Parkinson, Russell Harty, Jay Leno, Johnny Carson, etc.
Bad chat show hosts – Graham Norton, Jonathon Ross, Chris Evans,

Ross can be quite knowledgeable, especially on movies but he is a rampant egomaniac.

@arthurchappell I hate it when he is a guest on any of the panel shows that I watch because he always makes a complete nuisance of himself.

I dont really watch that kind of tv often, or much really, but do love me some bad natural disaster movies, and silly sci fi's like killer sharks, or killer spiders run amok

What do you think of Jimmy Fallon? I don't know how I feel about him though I don't watch those shows very often. They can be entertaining but it can be all spoof. He seems like a nice guy that wouldn't tear anyone down. Tom Cruise and him did this pretend to lip sing a popular song but it was kind of dumb too. You do see the person on a more non-professional level though. He also has one on the you tube where he talks to himself (Mr. deal man) in the mirror.

@arthurchappell If you do let me know what you think. I am really unsure about him. I laughed at him and Trump hitting it off but not sure what to think.

The only one that I found quite funny was Dame Edna Everage sometimes she is a howler with her innuendos. Imagine the PC brigade would probably disapprove and spread their misery to others!

Humphries as Dame Edna was good but that was really a parody of chat shows rather than a chat show in its own right
