Spoiler alerts Season one episode six. The first episode to show the boys playing paintball, and later the first to put them in fancy dress costumes too. Sheldon’s hilarious attempt to represent the Doppler effect is pure TV comedy gold with everyone assuming he is just a zebra. An earlier joke in which they all turn up as The Flash is very funny too. The main story develops the tensions between Leonard and Penny’s ex-boyfriend, Kurt, which this time gives Leonard a moment of quiet victory over the bully. He also gets an early moment of true tenderness with Penny, honourably not exploiting her drunken state. Raj gets a great closing gag where his awkward silence actually gets him a girlfriend for once. Arthur Chappell
