Surprise to see that many people have booked cruise for 2017

Many cruise liners have released the 2017 cruise schedule, and I am rather surprised to see that many people are booking the cruise, and getting very excited over it. Some of the Alaska cruises have limited cabins because of these early birds. I do not like to book so far ahead. For one thing, I cannot buy insurance when the trip is far away. Another reason is that I do not want my money to lock up for more than a year. I do agree that a trip to Alaska is really once-in-a-lifetime experience.
