When I lived in a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona in the winter months there were always snowbirds who came to the city to spend the winter months golfing, and shopping.
A lot of these people were older and retired and the traffic was horrible at that time of year.
They would go to the grocery store and buy up everything in sight or take up two parking spaces instead of one.
They would come from the States where the snow was heavy in the winter months, some would buy homes or mobiles and live in Arizona 4-6 months out of the year then return home.

Ah snowbirds--the lifeline of South Florida tourist business. They brought about the earlybird dinners and the joke "How does an earlybird sound?" "Cheap! Cheap!" BUT they are also the generation that made life easier for you. :O)

I'm from Florida. Don't get me wrong, we love having the snowbirds here (they spend lots of money and keep our taxes low), but it really tests the patience of us native Floridians! At least Arizona shares in our misery! lol

I didn't realize people went to Arizona, too. Thought it was just Florida. Learned something new today
