When ever I had a trip to village, I found there some of residents are keeping their doors and windows throughout whole day....They only shuts their doors down only on getting dark shade from sunset...City residents keeps their doors closed throughout the day whole....Why people does like this in the cities?....Do you have any idea?....

@gamyam,Have you ever read about Shani Shinganapur in Maharashtra?It's a small town which is famous for the Shani temple it has.People living there don't have doors in their houses.They don't shut their houses even at night.You can read about it in the net.

high crime rates stop people doing that in British cities though at one time it was common and safe to air houses by leaving them open
