Taking the wrong bus

My colleague was late to work yesterday. She took the wrong bus, and she did not realize that she had taken the wrong bus until the bus took an unexpected (to her) turn. She did not alight immediately because the bus traveled on a free way. By the time she reached the office, she was an hour late. All of us teased her about it. It so happened that she saw the bus coming. It was in the third position. She was jostling to the back, and did not realize that the bus had overtaken the other two buses, and became the first bus to reach the stop. She took the third bus without checking the bus number. Fortunately she was in familiar place. If she makes this kind of mistake in a foreign country, that will be disastrous.
