I really shouldn't be here, but I have my math work done and my Geology shouldn't take too much time to finish and I just had to write this if for nothing else than the memory of it and the day I drew the blue one.
Let me go back and explain. In my Geology class, we have 7 tests altogether. We draw these poker chips on the scheduled "Chip Thursday" and we write down the color we draw. These tests are take home tests, which means we have one week from the day we draw to finish the test.
This test is found online and is about 20-25 essay questions, except we only do the ones for our chip color. For example I had an orange chip once and I had problems 2, 4, 7, 10, and everyone gets the bonus question 13.
Now to the "special blue chip" A student can only draw this chip once and when a student does draw a blue chip, they can opt out of taking the test or if they get a 75% or better, they will get full credit. Today was our fourth chip day and I drew the blue chip as well as the girls who sit next to me.
This leaves only one more test and of course today our instructor let us know that for the last test, anyone who didn't draw the blue chip will automatically have the blue chip for that test.
Of course I will complete the test, I want as high a grade as I can get, but I was excited and though I did get full credit on test 1 and 3, I didn't do as well on test 2, so I am hoping by taking this test it will make up for that test.

@simone10 Math test, I know I missed at least 2-3, but I know I did well on the rest. The Geology test, I believe I did extremely well, I was shocked how easy it was.

At the sight of this title,I assume that you were buying the blocks. That is to say ,your homework depends on what poker chips you have drawn in which some are easier and others are not .

The chips we draw determines the questions we have to answer and only the blue chip allows us to opt out of taking the test or if we did the test and get a 75% or better, we get full credit. I took the test and turned it in yesterday, so I will know next week how I did.

You need to spend more time studying than in an online discussion group. When you are on vacation or weekends come here to see how it is. But school should be your priority and you should try to get the best grades possible.

@poehere I normally am not here, you can ask some of my older friends to know that I am here less often and I can't be here on weekends because I help my daughter at her shop. I do believe I am getting the best grades possible since the classes I am taking are my weakest. I absolutely know I am passing my classes and I only have 3 weeks to go and I am getting my work done, but thanks for the tip.

@Carmelanirel2 I am sorry. I just saw a few other people who were in school here and they talked about different things. I know if you have a family and you are driven to complete your course then you will do good. I was just saying that a lot of hard work always pays off when you are trying to finish school. I wish you a lot of luck on this one and hope yuo pass your last test.

@poehere That's okay, I knew you didn't have all the information and yes, I have my family which includes my retired husband, two sons and two dogs. On top of that, on Fridays and Sundays I help my daughter at her dog grooming shop and I do take my work with me for when I have free time. Saturday is the only day I don't do any work, it is my day of rest which I have done since the beginning.
No hard feelings, I also know there are students who don't take their studies seriously. Like this one girl in my math class, she doesn't do her homework each time and sometimes leaves class early. Other students and I wonder how she is even going to pass.
Plus, I am self-motivated because over the first half of my classes were all online, it wasn't until math and science (and one Writing class that is only offered on campus) that I had to take in person. On top of that, I had to wait until my husband retired because we only had one car, so this two-year degree has taken 5 years, but being on the home stretch, I know where I am and though I may not get an A, I am pretty sure I am passing both classes.
So keep your eyes open, in about 3 weeks I will be here a lot more often.
