Is this the end for Peyton Manning?

As most pro football fans know by now, Peyton Manning, the future Hall of Fame QB of the Denver Broncos, had a horrible day yesterday. After completing only 5 of 20 passes and throwing four interceptions, Peyton left the game in the third quarter. Benched! This was his worst game in all of his NFL career.
Turns out that he was trying to play while having a torn plantar fascia in his foot. In the days before the game, he could hardly even walk. Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak admitted that he should never have put the injured Manning in the game in the first place.
But here's the question: what now? Will this injury heal and allow Peyton to return to his old form? Or has "old" become the operative word? At 39 years old, has he reached the point where his body just can't recover from injury as young Peyton's could?
As a Peyton fan from way back, I still hope he can play long enough to win that second Superbowl. But it's not looking great right now.

If his foot doesn't heal and he is not able to finish the season, that's probably what he will do.

For many pro athletes, listening to their bodies, when their bodies are telling them something they don't want to hear, is very hard for them to do. Peyton has to much pride, I'm sure he doesn't want to go out with the kind of performance he had on Sunday.

I was bummed because I didn't watch all the game yesterday and then that happened. He was doing so well, and I was hoping he could leave the game in a flame of Super Bowl Glory. I hope and pray that he recovers well, regardless of his playing status. Being from Colorado, I know we will do okay anyway.

I think the man can come back from this and get another shot at it. What a nightmare for the coach. His quarterback is on the verge of breaking an all time NFL record. In other words you have to let him play. Problem is he's hurt and you really shouldn't have him play. Wrong decision. He's going to be second guessing that for a long time.
Priority is to get him healthy.

He certainly has had a great career. But I'm sure he'll be disappointed if he never gets that second Super Bowl ring.
