I joined myLot in 2007. Like many here, I stopped posting when they stopped paying, but I didn't quit like some did.
Now, back at the very end of 2007, one of my friends posted that she had found a kitten.
Or should I say, the kitten found her.
She said that she was going to go catch a bus to Walmart and find a home for said kitten because she couldn't keep it. Here is a follow up discussion from her: http://www.mylot.com/post/1882344/how-i-miss-that-little-erm-big-now-kitty
Now, I've posted about him over the years, I mean, good grief, he's 8 years old now, I've had to have posted about him over the years.
Now, Tony, as we named him, is not graceful. He's not real smart either, but that's a whole other issue. He is, however, really sweet and loving.
So, tonight he dashed into the front room. Unlike, Heidi, Booboo, Oliver, Pong and Gabby, he can't get into the front room on his own. But he'll run fast, even to the point of slamming into a leg if you get it in front of him fast enough, obviously I failed to do so this time.
I was doing other things on the computer and messing with Heidi, who was on my desk, when Tony jumped/climbed onto the back of my chair. That's fine, there wasn't room for him on my desk because Heidi was already taking up the space.
Next thing I know, he's jumped onto the shelf over my desk that has my nearly 3 foot tall stuffed giraffe on it.
Remember, this cat is a klutz...
He's hanging almost half off the shelf.
What do I do?
I grab my drink, and duck to the side, if he falls down, I don't want him clawing me or spilling my eggnog (that would be a terrible sticky mess don't ya'know?)
Happily, he managed to pull himself up on the shelf and has settled down.
I'll have to get the roomie in here to get him down...

I was wondering as I read on just when the giraffe was coming into it - glad the cat recovered from the falling ok.

@arthurchappell it it really is only a part of my collection. I also collect cat stuff, horses (you can see a little on in front of the little teapot) and by horses I mean all those "horsie" things like unicorns and the like. I also collect dragon stuff and I have a very small but loved collection of Oz stuff. I have a lot of Oz books, however.

Each cat has its own personality. My granddaughter just became a "mother" to a kitty that noone wanted because it had some problems. I hope it will all come out fine. The kitty is not very bright and he has some genetic issues. I hope nothing bad comes out of this: she´d be devastated.

@ElicBxn Popi has (among other things) lack of fur. He looks like a new born mouse. He is absolutly bad looking, poor thing. That´s why noone wanted him. He is also a little "slow" as cats go. But he will be much loved.

@marguicha Wonder if that's how Sphynx cats got their start...

Cats are crazy creatures... You reminded me that I forgot to pick up some light eggnog before leaving work this morning.

Haha funny cat! That reminds me of one cat we had back at my parents'. She was (hyper)active but also really unpredictable.

Your story makes me want another kitty but no, I won't do that. When the kids were here we always had pets but now retired we like to travel...at the drop of a hat...without worrying about someone to watch the animals. The children do drop them off to be babysat once in a while and that's enough...
