The Heat Is On

Bright and early this morning the furnace people were here to install the new furnace. It took about five hours from start to finish. One man started the project and another joined him about an hour later. At one point when they were taking apart the old furnace the house was shaking so much I wondered if my house would hold up. Of course it did. They also installed a new thermostat. So no more oven to warm the house. I have heat from all registers and it feels wonderful! I hope your day has been going good for you. Thanks for reading.

So glad that you finally got your new furnace. Ours is coming in a few days. I hope it doesn't take them too long to install it.

It's not a short operation. I thought it would take longer than it did. I hope yours doesn't take as long, but expect it to take time.

It's always a good feeling knowing that our source of heat is working for the winter. I just wish I could have a forced air furnace instead of the baseboard heat I'm stuck with.

@just4him I'm glad we have heat that works, it just doesn't work as well as I would like and there isn't much I can do about it.

Be thankful for what you have. I'm very thankful there was a program available so I could get a furnace for winter.

@fawkes62 have you checked your furnace filters? The guy that installed my furnace said I need to check them every four months. Some require monthly. It will make all the difference to how well it works.

Winter is still a month away. We're in the middle of fall/autumn and even that is warmer than usual. So yes, I'm all ready for the cold weather to begin.

Enjoy your new heater. I lived in a house once that had no heat and I had to use my oven too.

It's no fun using the oven and it causes the utility bill to run higher. So I'm glad I have the new furnace especially with snow on the way.

Most definitely. I'm feeling all nice and toasty right now while the rain is pouring down. Now we just need to get the seasons right. This is supposed to be fall and there should be some hint of snow on the ground by now. Deer hunting season starts next weekend and usually by then we have snow. Somehow it looks like Deer hunting season and Thanksgiving are both going to be warmer than usual.

@just4him Our weather guy just said we were going to have a cold & most than usual snowy winter. The kids are thrilled since it has been maybe 2 years since they have seen snow.

It is a good day to have heat. We have rain at the moment and it is a bit chilly outside, but not like it should be for this time of year in Wisconsin. I hope you can get warmed up.

So glad that you now have warm air for your home and you don't have to be cold with snow in the forecast for your region.

the hot season seems to be permanent here in my country now, save for some rains, I think El Nino phenomenon sticks like a glue here.

@ridingbet It was Christmas on Guam and being as warm as it was, was not a good thing for this winter hearted person, so we decided to defrost the fridge. This was the kind of freezer that had lots of frost before the days of no frost freezers. We took that frost and had ourselves a snowball fight. It was a lot of fun.

I lived in the tropics for a year when I was on Guam. There is a lot to be said for having four seasons. I really missed winter when I was there. I know you're used to having it warm year round and rain in its season, but I'll take cool and cold over year round heat. Besides, I love snow. Have you ever had an opportunity to experience winter and snow?

@just4him no, not yet, my friend. when a friend goes abroad, I always joke them to send me a jar of snow, which will melt, eventually.
