I Shouted - "I Kiss Ya!" . . And It Was Chaos!

Back in the Philippines I used to own and manage a photography/art studio. Modesty aside, my studio was very popular. During graduation season my 50-year-old photographer and I used to go to high schools and colleges to take group pictures of graduating students. Graduating students are extremely happy and excited. They kept yapping, screaming, and giggling while positioning and arranging them to get a perfect picture. It was always a problem for me to calm them down. It was one Saturday morning when I got a call from a principal of a public high school for a group picture of graduating students. The group picture was to be taken in front of the school building at 9:00 a.m. while the sun was at the right spot for a perfect group picture. By 8:00 a.m. my photographer and I were at the school ground to set up all that was needed for the picture-taking. Not very long, all the graduating students and faculty members were on the ground. I started to arrange and position them. They were so excited; they kept talking, giggling, laughing, and yelling; some were even humming their favourite tunes. Not very long everything was ready for the camera. “Okay, pretty ladies and good-looking young men, good morning! Please stop yapping now! Pay attention! Look at the camera! No moving! After I counted 3, everybody should say CHEESE! Okay?” I shouted. “CHEEEEEEEEEEESE!”, they all shouted and laughed. Even their teachers and principals were laughing and giggling. I was just 28 years old at that time and, modesty aside, quite good-looking. Some of their teachers were young and pretty. I was tempted of making some fun. “Okay, whoever does not stop giggling and yapping, I am going to KISS her or him – lips to lips!” I shouted smiling. Holy smoke, that brought the house down! I pretended to walk towards them and the girls started shrieking. And there were even two young guys who came out from the closet. One shouted: “Come, khisshhh meeeeehhhh!” I shouted “ I did not brush and floss!” That did not only bring the house down; it literally exploded the house. Anyway, after the principal told them to calm down, everything went just fine. My photographer took 6 shots. Fortunately, their group picture turned out perfect. Most likely, the principal loved my sense of humor that she called me again the following year. I miss those good old days back home!

And if a photographer did that today he would be arrested for being a pervert! Think about it.

And you are from the Philippines . . I studied in a catholic seminary but I lost my vocation to the priesthood . . that may be the reason why you think I am smooth!

wow! Now that all mobile phones are equipped with cameras, I think the photographers are more into taking shots at Luneta and Rizal Park, and also graduation ceremonies.
