If you could gain one thing from myLot, what would it be?

I pondered this very question this morning as I came to check in on notifications and new posts. As I looked about the site there were many people asking questions, but none that really interested me. My first thought was, not another one of those sites! I felt a bit of disappointment and asked myself why... You know, the sites that promise compensation for contribution and then suddenly they vanish into thin air. The list ran off in my head, how many social media sites I've covered articles on, which do so well when they first start off and then everything falls apart. That's when I realized my own hopes and expectations of myLot may be different than the sites hopes and expectations itself. For I had the great privileged to meet so many interesting people and on a whim, so it seemed, they to were gone. I came to myLot because someone told me of the site. It took me quite some time being my work hours are crazy, but I finally got here. It can be quite difficult to squeeze things in when your covering a breaking news piece for five hours straight or scheduled to cover three conference in one week. Still getting used to the format and how everything runs, I have yet to truly make a connection like those in the past. Those of which are missed. I miss that feeling of anticipation, of wonder what Booker the dog might be doing or looking for that next post about a friends journey to another land. Eager to find that friend who talks about their work day or what they are making for dinner. That moment you feel truly connected to someone else who enjoys taking photos too. All these sites had one thing in common that was worth its weight in gold, yet they tumbled down not seeing the very treasure of which they hold. MyLot... The name that says it all myLot... a place one might gain friends across the way. If I could gain one thing from myLot, it would be a "connection" to all of you new and old. While I might not be here all the time, I hope you come to enjoy my presence as much as I yours. That we might soon fall into the slender of routine throughout time of sharing from life to life. Wendy

This is THE question I think everyone should ask themselves. I love that you have figured out for yourself what your purpose is in being here for no matter the purpose if you can't clarify it then you're lost. I'm here for two reasons, one temporary (at best) and the other simply to escape boredom (at worst).

Beautifully put, Wendy. Thank you. It is, indeed, the making of friends and following their lives which is what really makes the cloth here. It would be difficult for an outsider to understand the attraction of it but I think that you have said it about as eloquently as it can be said.

It took a bit to get that group rebuilt, I had a few connections come over (more of us bubbs are here once you find us!), but you will get it!
